20 years ago I had afootball player step and crack almost every bonein my foot . The MD said I have lost 70% motion in my foot; needless to say I lost my scholarship was taken away from LSU. I was on the Markmen metal shooter team.
So, I happened to get a job at pharmacy. I am now 40 and getting ready for a change.
I will need financial aide and possobile day care arrangements. MY oldest is 11 and the little one is 7.
I had PELL GRANT back in '92 or '93 (Jefferson State Comm. College) and was unable to finish my courses to help with my grandparents. I never had the choice to go back to school but the great thing is I love working in the Pharnacy-- I am certified and liscene Techician. I feel like to help people on the side of the counter, I am married and even with what he brings in there is no really left over because kids grow so fast esp, in this economy. The MD wants to see me agaih 6/30/09. I am in a brace and on crutches now and I don't know whst to ask about my foot and my ankle that also hurts really bad. Can anyone help?

Hi, 68Chevelle, and welcome to EmpowHer. Thank you so much for your question.

(Do you HAVE a 68 Chevelle? Or did you have one? Very cool!)

OK, so I'm reading your question, and honestly, it's hard to even get past the point where the football player stepped on your foot and broke all those bones. I cannot even imagine how much that must have hurt. I just answered a question about a foot bone yesterday and found out that there are 26 bones in each one of our feet. Your recovery must have been difficult and painful to say the least. Wow.

So you're going back to school? That's great!! What do you plan to study? It sounds like you are a very optimistic person, and it's wonderful that you are getting another chance to go back to school.

OK, so let's talk about your foot.

What does the doctor say about it? Your headline says you fell but you don't write anything about it. Is this injury because of the fall?

Is it possible that you have re-broken a bone or some bones? Does it hurt like it did when you originally got hurt?

Where in your foot exactly is the pain? (top? bottom? inside? outer side? one toe?) And is it stabbing pain or aching pain?

And where in your ankle is the pain? Is that stabbing pain or aching pain?

I really want to give you more information here but I need some more help from you.

Is the doctor talking about surgery?
Are you hoping to regain some motion, or just ease the pain?
Do you have medical insurance?

Let us know some more and we'll be glad to give you a list of questions to ask your doctor.
