I need help...Im 18 years old and i have been on birth control pills over a year now.I've had a regular period for almost 8 months now...my last period started oct 28 and 11 days after that i missed 3 pills n had unprotected sex all three days now 5 days before this months period i started havin brown blood coming out its not light n its not heavy at all...i havent had ne signs of my period this month nor did i last month and everything was regular last month unlike this month..i know brown blood is a sign of old blood but could it also be from missing my pill or could it mean that im pregnant..i dnt know whats going on plezz help me...and or explian things to me....just ne one help...

Now that you are officially late on your period, you might go ahead and take a pregnancy test, just to see if that's indeed a possibility as to what's going on. If it's negative, my best guess would be that your hormones got a bit screwed up when you missed the three pills in a row.
Anon, did you know that when you miss pills, you are supposed to make them up?
-- If you miss one pill, you should take two pills the next day.
-- If you miss two pills, you should take two pills for two days in a row.
-- If you miss three pills, you are supposed to start a backup form of birth control right away, throw away that pack of pills and start the next one (if you are a sunday starter, simply start the next sunday).
Did you do any of this?
I am wondering, if you are on birth control and obviously want to avoid a pregnancy, why you had unprotected sex for three days while missing your pills? You may want to keep condoms around in case this happens again, so you don't have to go through this kind of worry. And please do update us on what happens, OK?

Yes i am still bleeding...i was suppost to start my period on sunday...(yesterday)...but im still bleeding brown and there is some red blood in it not that much tho...

Welcome to EmpowHer and thank you for your post. First off, you are right-- brown blood= old blood. Sometimes our body needs to release a bit of old blood that has remained and it is absolutely normal. I noticed your post is dated November 20th which was 3 days ago-- are you still bleeding?
Missing your pills 3 days in a row while having unprotected sex can certainly lead to pregnancy. You are not late yet, so I wouldn't recommend taking a pregnancy test until you are actually late on your period this month. The brown spotting or discharge can come from old blood that remains to be expelled or it can come from what is known as implantation bleeding. Implantation bleeding is a bit of spotting whether it is from pinkish to brownish colored that occurs as a result of implantation of the fertilized egg into your uterus.
