Hi Anon!

Thank you for choosing the EmpowHER community and for sharing your question! I am sorry that you aren't feeling well and that you have been feeling more emotional than normal.

As for being pregnant after a tubal ligation- pregnancy may occur if the tubes grow back together or a new passage forms that allows an egg to be fertilized by sperm, but the risk is very low (less than 0.1%), but theoretically it could happen.

It's probably very unlikely, but you can take a pregnancy test to tell for sure. Since you had a light period you can wait 5 days before your next period is due or have your doctor do a blood test and exam for accuracy.

On the other hand, fluctuations in any of the hormones that regulate the menstrual cycle might be the reason for your last irregular period. Your doctor can run a blood test to check your hormone levels for further clarification.

It could be as simple as a fluctuation in hormones Anon. Your doctor can give you a for sure answer.

Did this help?

Best,

Kristin
