I have had 3 c-sections in the 70's and a hystrectomy in 1994. I am over weight and the tummy folds over where the scar tissues start above my vaginal lips. I am wonderimg if the bladder is falling down. just uncomforable down low. When bladder is full it is sometimes uncomfortable. Thanks for your help and information.

Dear Anonymous,

The pelvic floor is a network of muscles, ligaments, and tissues that act like a hammock to support the organs of the pelvis: the uterus, vagina, bladder, urethra, and rectum. If the muscles become weak or the ligaments or tissues are stretched or damaged, the pelvic organs or small intestine may drop down and protrude into the vagina.

A heavy feeling in your vagina is indicative of a pelvic floor disorder. Please see your doctor and keep us updated.
