Q:

I haven't had a 'normal' period in almost two years, I get a VERY light period once every few months. Starting to have pain in both sides on my lower abdomen Any suggestions? P.s. I am vegetarian if that helps?

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER.

How old are you? If you are in your late 40s or early 50s, this change in you menstrual cycle might be a sign of early perimenopause.

Were you a vegetarian prior to two years ago when your periods were normal?
Are you getting adequate nutrients and vitamins from your diet?

A vitamin or mineral deficit could explain the change.

Consider speaking with your gynecologist about this,
Maryann
