I lost the first pill in my birth control pack (should have taken on Monday). I took my Tuesday pill, but couldn't take 2 like I should have because the first one was lost. What is my risk for becoming pregnant?

Thank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER. Anytime you forget to take your pills (or lose one), you increase your chances of getting pregnant. You may want to use a backup method for the next week to ensure you don't get pregnant. The risk is possibly low, but you still should be extra diligent about not forgetting (or losing any more) this month. If this happens again, you may want to call your doctor's office and explain what happened--they may have some suggestions for you also.
