your period may be late if theres stress more than usual. and if you are pregnant it may be to early to tell.

thanks alison.yah i always do researching especially if its has something to do with the health...i have read some info..what is about 180 or 90 days pls enlighten me about this it has something to do with menstrual length...anyway,i am not using any contraception and as of now im not yet ready to be pregnant again..about how long unprotected sex, well actually since im in irregular period i dont know when i will be safe or not but normally we do unprotected sex after my perion but just in 2 days then after that we use condoms.maybe i will wait another week to re test.but so far i dont feel any unusual to my self or symptoms of pregnancy.i have a friend she is irregular also like me and we have the same experience her period missed for almost 1 month and a half but shes not pregnant.and her period is coming..well...can you teach me how to calculate or how would i know when my next period is?..thanks for the comment i really appreciate it..in case i will let you know about this!

Jen03,
It sounds like you've done your research! You're right...most women's cycles range from 21-35 days, but that is just a range, and your cycle may be even longer. Since you are used to irregular periods, it can be frustrating to not know when you have missed a period.

Two questions:
1. Are you using any type of hormonal contraception (the pill, for example)?
2. Are you trying to become pregnant?
3. How long ago did you have unprotected sex?

Since it has been more than 42 days since your last period, you have a few options:
- Call your doctor and let them know that your period is 42+ days late, and you think you may be pregnant but keep getting negative results. Do they want you to come in for a pregnancy test in the office?

- You can wait another week and re-test. Some women may miss a period completely, and not be pregnant, and this can be normal for them. You may still want to call your doctor to ask for their advice, since they also know your medical history.

I hope this helps---please let us know what you decide to do!
