I had just started a new pack for a new type of pill, and I forgot to take day 7 after my boyfirend and I had sex. I made it up the next day. When we were having sex the condom broke, but he had not come yet, so nothing was inside me. I have no symptoms of being pregnant, except light spotting yesturday. This could jsut be due to my new pill because I am a week from my period due date. Is this just spotting? Or implantation? HELP.

Hi lolxjackieee,
Thank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER. Anytime you forget to take your pill, it increases your risk of becoming pregnant. Using a backup method like you did always is a good idea to help decrease risk. It typically take 10-14 days for a fertilized egg to implant in the lining of the uterus, so what you experienced more than likely was breakthrough bleeding from forgetting to take your pill and having to make it up.

Good luck and let us know how you're doing.
