Hi Anonymous,
Given the fact that you had this procedure done recently, I would call your doctor's office and tell them all of this. Usually, as Alison said, following a miscarriage, your doctor wants to know that your hormone levels have gone back to normal. Give them a call, and get an appointment to find out what could be going on. Please let us know what you find out. Good luck.

Have you had your follow-up appointment after your D&C, and did you have the D&C from a miscarriage? It would be important to make sure that the procedure was successful, as if you had a previous miscarriage, your hormones could still be elevated from the pregnancy.

I agree with Christine.

We all have friends who say that particular events happened to them, but it does not explain what OUR specific bodies are doing. Almost "anything" is possible, but it does not mean it is probable, or even safe.

If you want to know why you are receiving positive pregnancy tests, you need to go to the doctor either way: to make sure it is a viable pregnancy and/or to make sure your procedure was successful AND your hormones are back to their pre-pregnancy state (if you are not currently pregnant).

Anon - It's difficult to understand what you are trying to say. Is English a second language for you? Where are you? You seem to be in a lot of pain, and you seem to want to get help but you also seem to be afraid of the doctor and questioning why the doctor is wanting to help you. Every single person deserves to have a good, healthy life. For women good health will ideally include a normal period. There are many, many women who have trouble with their periods and you are not alone in this. We want to help you, and your doctor wants to help you. Would it help you to take a friend with you when you see the doctor so you're not alone? Please don't give up on yourself, you deserve good health.

Anon,

I'm so sorry you feel that way. I know that when a person doesn't feel happy with the way they look, it can make them feel shy and awkward in many situations.

But I am concerned about your health. And whether or not you need a D&C has nothing to do with your beauty! Did your doctor somehow make you feel bad about yourself?

Could you see a female doctor instead? Would that be better?

Anon,

You are 25 years old. Please don't be afraid of your doctor. There is no reason to be afraid. You should be able to ask questions and get information about your own body. Can you take someone with you -- your mom, or a friend -- who would help you ask questions and maybe take notes for you so you could find out more about what's going on?

I'm afraid that there's no way to just "have" a period without knowing what's going on with your body. But your doctor should and can spend time with you helping you understand this.
