Hello Anonymous,

Usually, ovulation occurs about 14 days following the last day of your period. You can get pregnant if you have unprotected intercourse five days before and on the day of ovulation.

So, yes there is a possibility for becoming pregnant.

Thank you Ms. Mary Ann...
Last July 11, 2015 I have my pregnancy test with my ob gyne. The result appears to be negative coz its only one red line. She have me also an I E and seems that she feels nothing or lets say negative also. She let me bring the pregnancy test result with me after the check up because she told I will observe if after one day it will be two lines or the result will be positive. Is there really a possibility like that? That after a day the one red line on the pregnancy test result will become 2 after a day & you will be positive?
Thanks...

Hello Anonymous,

I would disregard any pregnancy test results that are a day or two old. You must follow the directions and read the results in the time frame listed in the directions.

Best,
Maryann

thank you.. I am delayed for 11 days now. this is the first time that it happens to me. Is this a confirmation that I am pregnant? I haven't try any test as of today. I thought that I was just delayed because since may 28, 2015 to july 4, 2015 I take many antibiotics without thinking that i might be pregnant. Does the medicines can affect the fetus just in case I am really pregnant?

Hello Anonymous,

Take a home pregnancy test tomorrow morning. Use the urine when you first get up.

Some antibiotics are safe to take throughout pregnancy, some pose known risks to a developing baby, and a host of others fall in between.

Common antibiotics that are generally considered safe during pregnancy include penicillins (such as amoxicillin and ampicillin), cephalosporins (such as cephalexin), and erythromycin.

Anonymous, if you get a positive result, please contact your physician regarding your antibiotic use.

Regards,
Maryann

Hello Anonymous,

The menstrual cycle is regulated by a precise balance of hormones. It is safe to say that an imbalance has recently occurred to cause you to have two periods in one month.
