Hi there,

I need some consulting please..

Okay so I dont really know where to even start explaining...

My boss had a mild heart attack last week and it shook me because hes an ex pro body builder who was very conscious of what he ate and what not.

I'm going to be 21 next month and I was once morbily obese. At 16 I weighed 120kg's... I'm now 30kgs lighter and I gym at least 4 days a week. I'm eating well, but I think I'm paranoid.

I dont have family history of any type of heart disease and my bp is about 128/70 to 130/72....

I lose sleep at night because I fear dying. I am also alergic to adrenaline so the moment my anxiety goes up, adrenaline starts rushing and my heart rate is through the roof which makes me think I'm gonna have a heart attack which makes me more anxious and the cycle starts again.

I've developed cramping in my left arm, neck and upper back.(probably from the anxiety) I feel like I'm  going crazy with paranoia but im trying to be rational

Hello Dabney,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community and I am glad to reached out to us for advice and reassurance.

You are not going crazy because you realize that you are overreacting and can identify that you are having an anxiety attack.

It is important to be aware of and concerned about one's health.

You work at living a healthy lifestyle by eating a well balanced diet and exercising regularly. What you need to focus on is reducing your stress and anxiety levels.

Consider scheduling an appointment for a general physical exam. Confirmation that you are in good health just might put your mind at ease. If warranted, consider seeking counseling with a therapist or psychologist who is trained in stress management and anxiety reducing techniques.

Keep in touch,
Maryann

Thank you so much for that reply Maryann, I'm already feeling so much better. I will deffinatley stay in touch and I will make an appointment with a therapist so we can stop this anxiety at the root. The best thing I've ever done was become a part of the empowHER community.

Hi Dabney,

So glad to hear this. You are on the right path and I am confident you will get to the root of your anxiety and overpower it.

Embrace your problem and overpower it before it overpowers you:)
