Guide

Without knowing more than what you have shared, it is difficult to pinpoint the exact reason for your low sex drive.

There is a wide range of illnesses, physical changes and medications which can lower a woman's libido.

Pain during intercourse, illnesses like arthritis, medications including antidepressants and antihistamines, too much alcohol, altered body image and fatigue contribute to low sex drive.

There are psychological causes as well. Anxiety, depression, stress, especially over work or financial issues, poor body image, low self-esteem and a history of physical or sexual abuse can decrease a person's libido.

Relationship issues like unresolved conflicts, poor communication of sexual needs and preferences, lack of connection with your partners or infidelity are possible reasons for a low sex drive.

You may or may not identify with any of these causes. You may consider a candid conversation with your primary care physician or gynecologist. Though you may feel uncomfortable talking about this face to face with someone, it is vital to your personal satisfaction and well-being of your marriage.
