I'm 53 yr. Old, after 3yrs.i get a period today heavy and cramping, is this normal?

Thank you for your post.

It is not normal to have bleeding if your periods stopped 3 years ago. Once a woman has gone 12 months without a period, any bleeding thereafter should be checked out as she is considered post-menopausal. Please make an appointment with your gynecologist as soon as you can.
