I'm on my 7th pack of the pills placebos started today I'm suppose to start my period either Monday or Tuesday. Any ways on Thursday I started having a brown discharge with red I still have it today the reason why I'm worried is because, last Month I had brown discharge instead of my period because on December I took 2 EC pills. I seen a doctor and she said its normal when I go to the bathroom and wipe my self the paper is brigh red sometime with clots of blood and on the edges brown or sometimes is more brown then red.

Thank you faith,
everything is good now I got my period last night it was kind of healthy because one pad full of blood, I out another one before going to bed I woke up there was blood also I even had a small blood stain in. My underwear. Today I'm still bleeding but not a lot I just put on a second pad there wasn't a lot of blood I the pad that i just took off. I notice that I bled a lot and a little bit. I had a stripe of blood in the pad that I just took of the blood was light red but when I wipe my self the blood is bright red. Sometimes I'm bleeding but not on the pad. Is that normal to bleed a little on the pad and when I wipe my self I have more blood. Sometimes it's bright red other times is red but not too red when I wipe my self.

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.

The color of the blood does not signify anything usual.  Blood is the same throughout the body.  If you have ever had a cut that bled, you saw how the blood changed color between to fresh blood, and the old blood.  It is the same with menstrual blood.

Secondly, do not take EC when taking birth control pills.  The birth control pill is enough to prevent pregnancy.  Taking both at the same time can dramatically disturb the hormones in your body.  Your irregular period is most likely due to taking the EC.

These irregular periods are no cause for alarm as long as you do not have any other severely negative symptoms in relation to them.
