I'm having bowel inconsistencies mixed with bloating and stomach upset.

For at least 9 months, I've been having a mix of mostly loose stools and some constipation. Along with that, I sometimes have bloating and frequently have stomach upset. During some weeks, my bloating is so bad that I will go from weighing 120 lbs. to 125 in one week and then the next week, I will go back to weighing 120 lbs, which is my normal weight. I rarely snack in between meals, and do not drink a lot of soda. I often have stomach upset after eating lunch or dinner. I haven't had a menstrual cycle since I had an IUD removed which was at least a year ago. I do not know if this is related. I will appreciate any information you can provide. Thanks!

Guide

It sounds like you may be suffering from irritable bowel syndrome. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common disorder that affects your large intestine (colon). Irritable bowel syndrome commonly causes cramping, abdominal pain, bloating gas, diarrhea and constipation. Despite these uncomfortable signs and symptoms, IBS doesn't cause permanent damage to your colon.

A diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome depends largely on a complete medical history and physical exam.
