I'm on the pill for the last 5 months . I have sex at least once a week with my boyfriend . Now I am currently on my 4th placebo pills , and having a really horrible lower back pain for quite some times . I'm also having a little bit headache . Is it PMS ? I thought the pill eliminates PMS . My period hasn't coming yet . I'm a little bit worry . Is it possible that I'm pregnant ? Since I'm on the pill I've been really regular , usually my period came on the 3rd placebo pills . Is it too early to test ?

Thank you so much for your replies .

Sincerely ,
Dina .

I got my period this afternoon (I'm in Japan) but it's very light . Is it really a period ? My last periods weren't light . But I read that the pill makes the period lighter and lighter over time , also missed period means no bleeding at all . Is that true ? or do I still need to test ?

Thanks a lot .

Dina

Hi Dina,
Unfortunately, it is difficult to distinguish PMS symptoms from pregnancy symtpoms, as what causes these unpleasant effects are similar hormones in our bodies. The only way to know if you are pregnant is a missed period and a positive pregnancy test.

You can take a home pregnancy test once your expected period has not started. You can either choose to take one now, or wait another week, as your period may just be late. It happens frequently.

Women who use the pill can still have irregular periods and PMS, although the pill does help many women reduce these symptoms.

Please let us know if your period starts, or if you decide to take a test!
