I've been getting my period since I was 9. I'm always regular, I have a 24 day cycle. But I've been noticing for quite some time that I'm extremely emotional every day. Not just around the time I get my period. It's like a non-stop emotional breakdown. I've asked this question on a different website but everyone told me I sounded pregnant. I don't think I am because I've been this way for two months and then last month I was fine and now this month I'm all emotional again. Can someone please help me out here? Thanks in advance! :)

Hi MedievalPrincess,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  At your age some girls can experience hormonal imbalance.  Teenage years, also known as the adolescence period where the child crosses the threshold of childhood and steps towards adulthood, is the time when nature also implements many physical changes which prepares the body for the natural function of reproduction. The changes that take place in the body also affects the hormonal secretion as the glands that were latent starts functioning and new hormones are produced in the body which brings in not only physical changes but also behavioural changes during the puberty period.  But, many other things can also be the cause of what you feel.  It would be good to see your doctor and explain how you feel.
