I really recommend raw vegan chocolate for treats. I have that with nuts. You can find it at Wholefoods. I would say what really works for me is to cut out junk food and replace it with healthier "naughty" foods like dark vegan chocolate, veggie chips, hummus, that kind of thing. You can find gorgeous raw vegan "cheesecakes" at Wholefoods too. I even make my own healthier desserts. Use sucanat instead of sugar. And replace butter with Earth Balance buttery spead(all good stuff in there).
For me, the major changing factors were completely cutting out white bread and anything with white sugar, replacing pasta with quinoa or brown rice and eating fruit about 4-5 times a day.
I allow myself about 120 calories worth of the dark chocolate a day. it even curbs one's desire to overeat and dark chocolate has great antioxidants too.
Good luck!

Thank you for your question and congratulations on your new lifestyle. Trying to stay away from high calorie foods will be of interest to you. Since you are exercising, you can eat 'junk food' in moderation but thats the key, moderation.

There is a great website that you can use to help track your food intake and see how many calories you are eating. I have used this in the past and it really showed me how much to eat and helped count calories. Spark People www.sparkpeople.com.

What is great about this website too is that you can input your daily exercise to count how many calories you are burning. This also provides some great recipes and 'how-to' reach your specific goals.

Could you please keep us updated? I would like to hear your input on the site. I found it very helpful.
