Im 42 years old and I started my period in October of 2015. I went to the Emergency Room in November because it was getting heavier. I was going through bags of pads a week, it was pouring out of me and I couldn't work. I was in the doctors office on Monday on 11/23/2015 and was on the operating table on 11/25/2015 for a d/c and polyp removal. I thought the bleeding was going to stop....well it didn't. I was still bleeding in February, so the inserted an IUD. Before the IUD, I was on 3 pills a day trying to stop the bleeding..they didn't work. So they inserted the IUD on 2/26/16. Two days after i had severe back pain, and light bleeding. Eventually the bleeding was slowed down a lot. I still spotted every month but at least I could work. But the back pain never went away and got worse. My back pain was so bad I was crawling around my house and my now 8 year old daughter had to help me get dressed. In the year I had back issues, I was going to the doctors...and he was giving me muscle relaxer, Tramadol, but nothing worked. I told him I thought it was the Mirena all along!! The doctors hesitated to removed the IUD because of all the previous bleeding. My options if I start bleeding is either cauterizing my uterus or a hysterectomy. The surgeon said cauterizing my uterus may not work because of how much I was bleeding. Well I couldn't take the back pain anymore and I got it removed on 3/3/2017. Two days after the IUD was out...my back pain level was 90% better. I could dress my self and bend over...it was amazing! My daughter stated now we can have go out and have fun!! Since 3/3/17 I bled for 3 days and stopped. It was great, then I had my follow up appointment on 4/28/17. I started spotting on 4/24/2017, but it was nothing I couldn't handle. Well today is 5/12/17 and I haven't stopped bleed and for the past week I have had big clots and back pain. I feel like its back labor, when the clot comes out the back pain goes away, until until the next clot builds up. I've called and made an appointment to see my doctor...appointments in June. The nurse said if it gets worse go to the Emergency room! I'm tired....at 42 years of age , I was not expecting my vagina to control my life.... any recommendation? Has anyone else dealt with the same issues? I think Im ready for a hysterectomy!! Goodbye Uterus....
