Q:

Mid cycle spotting, could I be pregnant?

Hi, I've been getting periods for 7 years now and I started keeping a track them back in November of 2016. I have a 25-27 days cycle and I never have midcycle spotting.
However, my last period started April 18 and it ended on the 22nd and my next period was suppose to start two days ago, but I have no signs of period. Infact, I got mid cycle spotting. I spotted very light, like just drops once a day for 2-3 days about 11-12 days before my period was suppose to start.

I had a beta Hcg blood test done about 20+ weeks after my "last" intercourse and it came out negative. Is there still a chance of pregnancy with the spotting, no period n all?
Thank you!

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to our community with your concern.

A blood hCG test is more accurate than a urine test. So, if the result was negative, you are not pregnant.

Consider speaking with your gynecologist about the mid cycle spotting.

Regards,
Maryann
