Q:

Missed an Active Pill in week 3....

Hi all!

I'm on Loestrin 1.5/30 FE. I ALWAYS take my Pill right on time, but I completely forgot to take my second to last active pill on time, and took that dose the next day, along with the Pill I am supposed to take.

My question is, am I still protected from pregnancy if I missed a dose in week 3 (the second to last active pill)?

HI Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  According to Loestrin:
  • It is important that you take it every day and at the same time each day. Try to pick a time that will be easy to remember, such as at bedtime or breakfast. If you have trouble remembering, please talk with your healthcare provider, as missing pills increases your risk of pregnancy.
  • Make sure you know exactly what to do if you miss any pills. In some circumstances, you may need to use a backup method of contraception, such as condoms, for a week.

You need to speak to you doctor on how to take your pills and knowing the risk of missing a day.

Best,

Daisy
