Specific body fluids, including blood, semen, vaginal secretions and breast milk, from an HIV-infected person can transmit or pass on HIV to another person.
It is possible, but less common, for HIV to be transmitted through oral sex. All unprotected sex (not using a condom when having sex with a person who has HIV) contains some risk of getting the virus.
