Hello. Thank you for posting.
Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome (MRKH) is an abnormality that affects about one in 5,000 women at birth. Those with the congenital syndrome are either born without a uterus and vagina or they have underdeveloped ones (they can have a working ovary or ovaries, however).
If you were born with an incomplete vagina but have a normal size uterus, it is likely you will be able to become pregnant and carry a baby. If you were born without a uterus or if your uterus is tiny, you will not be able to carry a pregnancy. Since the ovaries are likely normal and make eggs, an egg can be fertilized with your partner’s or a donor’s sperm. Adoption is another choice for some couples.
She should discuss her options with her doctor. We cannot know the specifics of her condition and general health, we can only give you general information.
