Q:

Is my nuvaring ineffective?

I accidentally left my nuvaring out in the car for about an hour. It probably got up to about 95 degrees in there. I inserted the Nuvaring about 12 hours after this incident. Nuvaring says to keep it under 85 degrees. I didn't think of this problem until now. To be safe, I am going to use another protection until my next period, but I did have sex one time, 7 days after my period started. Should I be worried that my Nuvaring didn't protect me for that day?

Guide

Hi,
Directly from the NuvaRing website is this information:

* How should I store NuvaRing?

After being dispensed by the pharmacy, NuvaRing can be stored for up to 4 months at room temperature, between 59° and 86°F (15° and 30°C). Avoid direct sunlight or storing above 86°F (30°C).
Beyond confirming what you knew about storage, I could not find anything regarding what happens if stored in higher temperatures.
You could always contact the company at1-877-688-2746
It is a good idea to use another form of birth control for now. As far as if you were protected on that day, I don't know. You will have to wait and see if you get your period or if you get an answer by calling NuvaRing. Keep us posted.
