I was sterilised about 5 months and when they went in they seen that my overy was dead. I was asked if I wanted it removed, which I declined, because I was getting over the sterilisation. I have read up on the symptoms and I have all of them. I thought I was starting early menopause and suffer from a bad back and never thought anything more about it. My question is, does the tube need removing and is it Dangerous left untreated ?

Ovarian torsion is when an ovary twists back and forth, causing intense pain in the pelvic area that comes and goes. Torsion of an ovary can cut off the blood flow to the ovary, essentially killing the ovary. Did your doctor suspect this is what happened? Doctors usually recommend removal, a procedure called an oophorectomy. The fallopian tube(s) might also be removed as well. Your doctor can advise you further.
