i was marry 14 yr only be with one man but he did have other woman before me, but 5 year ago i been having uti and getting sick alot not knowing why well this 6/2011 my husband left me and that was the last time i have sex with him, now we divorce and now i have a boyfriend and this April 2013 have only one thing sex and after that no more. my question is the i got my HPV from my ex husband or the my boyfriend gave it to me i don't know what to do, my ex have a girlfriend now or i think he already was with her when he was with me i just want to know who gave it to me. i am sad depress angry i have 2 kid daughter 14 son 12. please help i am 41 year.

Welcome to EmpowHER. There is no way of knowing is you got it from your husband or your boyfriend. Most infected persons do not realize they are infected, or that they are passing HPV on to a sex partner. A person can still have HPV, even if years have passed since he or she has had sexual contact with an infected person. It is also possible to get more than one type of HPV.
