Hello Anonymous,

There are several possible reasons that your period is delayed by four days. But, all are related to hormones.

Pregnancy could be the reason, if you have had unprotected intercourse since your last period.

High levels of stress is another. Excessive exercising, extreme weight gain or weight loss, illness and thyroid disorders can cause a late or missed period.

Menstrual irregularities is an early sign of perimenopause, when estrogen levels fluctuate.
