Last month and this month my period has became very ls short. Normally it last about 6 days and the past two months it's lasted about three to four. I took a at home pregnancy test and it came back negative, but I took it while I was still supposedly "on my period". Does that effect it? I've had some sign of pregnancy but with the negative test I'm not sure what's up.

Hello Anonymous,
Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for coming to us for help.
Has the flow for the last two periods been heavy like before?
If you had spotting or implantation bleeding the first month, followed by no period at all, then I would think you were pregnant.
How old are you? I am wondering if you might be experiencing early signs of perimenopause. Some women begin having fluctuations in estrogen levels as early as their late 40s. Fluctuations in estrogen levels cause irregular menstrual cycles.
Lastly, if you took a home pregnancy test while you were still having menstrual bleeding, you would get a negative result.
If you have had signs of early pregnancy, please consult your gynecologist to have a blood hCG pregnancy test done.
Please keep us updated.
