Alright, this is all new to me. This is my only source, i cant go to the doctor because im only 17, and i always go to the doctor with my mum. If i went without her she would be suspicious, and ask a million questions. Plus, she doesnt even know i've had sex. I really need help.
On January 2, my boyfriend and i had sex unprotected for the first time ever, i was quite literally shocked and scared. The next morning i took the morning after pill - this was my first ever time taking it. About 4 - 5 days later i started bleeding which lasted about 4 days, (i also got cramping, which i have never before experienced with a period). My period date is usually between the 19 - 23rd of the month, in December my period came as usual. Only, its now the 12th of February and there is no sign of a period. Im starting to really stress. I have taken a home pregnancy test, in which came back negative. But the stress is starting to take over me. i cant sleep at night, this is all i can think about, plus im not eating properly. Please help me to atleast feel reassured.

Dear Anon,

Take a deep breath. One of Plan b's side effects is a change in period-- the bleeding that you experienced was actually a period. At this point, if you took a pregnancy test and it came back negative- you are not pregnant. Just be patient and wait for your period to come.

There may be another way to look at your situation.

- You had your December period at the usual time.
- You had 4 days of bleeding in January, most likely from Plan B, and although it was earlier than usual, it may have been a period.
- It is now February 20th, and you said your periods usually come normally between the 19th-23rd of the month. Perhaps your period will begin this month during its regular time.

You have a few options:
1. Since you did have unprotected sex, you are at risk of pregnancy. You may want to take another home pregnancy test, as there is some room for user failure. It is most likely negative, since you already had a negative result (if you took it at least 2 weeks after January 2nd).
2. Wait until the end of February for your period to begin. If you did have a period in January, your February period may be up to a week late.
3. If March comes, and you still have not had a period, you may want to call your family doctor, and talk with a nurse. It is confidential, but you would have to give them your name so they can look at your chart. They may want you to come in for a check-up, and hopefully you could just tell your parents that your period is irregular and you would like a check-up.

Lastly, when you say you were "shocked" the next morning that you had unprotected sex, was this consensual sex, or were you shocked that he was not wearing a condom? I am not understanding why you are "shocked" after-the-fact.

Okay, so this had made me feel a little more assured.
i did another pregnancy test this morning after reading this, and it came back negative. that was a relief. im starting to think there could be something else wrong.. so i will go to the doctor if nothing has happened this month. i wasnt expecting my period to actually be this late.. i thought maybe around the first two weeks of february i would get my period seen as in january i got that bleed. Thanks so much for your help.
