On day 11 my period starts. For the past 7 months my periods have been only lasting 2 to 3 days and mild cramping. My usual period lasts 5 to 7 days with extreme cramping like to the point of going to the dr. or hospital to get pain meds to ease the pain. During my period its heavy for about 3 to 4 hours then it's light for the next day out two its a pinkish red color and watery. I've been checking my cervix and during the wait for my period to come out was extremely high I could barely reach it which isn't normal for me at all especially when waiting for my period its almost always low and hard this time it was high soft and squishy feeling which I was told was an early sign of pregnancy, along with creamy white cm which I had. While waiting for my period to show I had numerous pregnancy symptoms including nausea, sore breasts sensitivity to some smells like food being cooked make me have waves of nausea. Mood swings and very emotional which I am hardly ever. I was crying over movies that were not even sad and sometimes for no apparent reason. I took 2 of the dollar stores $1 tests at 7 days late it was neg so I did anther on day 9 it was neg as well. I was having fluttering and slight pulling feelings in my lower stomach also was told that is early pregnancy symptoms. I took a dollar store first response test on day 11 with first morning urine and there was a faint positive only too start my period hours later. Today is day 3 of this period and im still nauseous having heartburn which I've never had and still having a heightened sense of smell. I haven't tested again bc I think this was my period but in still nut sure bc of the faint positive I had. I'm waiting for my insurance to go through so I can see a dr but I'm worried that I may have experienced a chemical pregnancy:( me and my head are ttc and desperately want a baby so any advice is greatly appreciated as well as personal experiences. Thank you so much for your time. ~Breezy

Yes ma'am I am because I'm only 25 and as crazy as it sounds I thought it was pre menopause or something but I was told I have endometriosis and that was the cause of my painful periods. I never had the bad pain until after a miscarriage in 2008. But over the past 7 months my pain is very mild and my cycle has gone from a heavy 5-7 day for to a 2-4 day light flow. This is why I'm so confused. I appreciate your help and info!

Hi Breezy, thank you for the information and for your question. You seem very concerned, and it's good to know that you will soon have insurance and be able to see your doctor. You can ask for a blood test which, like a urine test, checks for the hCG hormone but does so in a different way.

Is it possible that the changes in your period are due to perimenopause? While this typically impacts women in their late 40's and early 50's, it does occur earlier in some women. This article written for the EmpowHER community provides some very helpful information: Are you in Early Menopause?

We hope this helps and that you will let us know what you learn from your doctor.

Best,

Pam
