Hi,
21 years old. I was 10 days late on my period. I am usually 2-3 days late but this time I was scared. I had unprotected sex last month. (I know, I was silly) ( he pulled out before finishing). I took a test 2 days before my original expected date for period and it was negative. I then took one 4 days after my expected period start date and it was negative. I had no symptoms other than my usual period which are headaches and sore breasts. My period however was heavy on the second day (yesterday 18/10/2016) and now seem to be going. I was wondering if i should be worried about anything?

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to our community with your concern.

Wait and see what happens in the next few days. One day of a heavy flow would suggest that you did not become pregnant.

Why this change? I don't know. You could always reach out to your gynecologist.
The menstrual cycle is regulated by hormones, so it may or may not be a hormonal imbalance.

Regards,
Maryann
