Over dosage of Postinor 2

I took both pills in one dosage, is this dangerous or less effective? Also, what are the usual side effects after taking the pills and how soon after? I took the pills about a 17 days ago and now I'm spotting ( not heavy but blood is present). Could this be a side effect?

Hello Anonymous,

Taking one dose was enough. You should never take more than one dose in a one month period of time or one menstrual cycle. You over dosed.

Hello Anonymous,

No. Postinor 2 should never be taken more than once in a one month period of time. It is intended to be used in an emergency situation and not as a regular form of birth control.

I had unprotected sex on a Thursday. I took P2 almost immediately. I started ovulating on Sunday, and had protected sex that same day. He didn't ejaculate inside me, what are my chances?

Hello Anonymous,

Postinor 2 prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation.

If you do not have any bleeding within three weeks of taking the pill, test for pregnancy.

Can postino and any other type of medicine that perform same duty as postino 2 cause my menstrual cycle to change ? After sex I took the postinor; had my menstruation alright: the following long I had unprotected Sec but he didn't put anything in me; but my menses didn't show up on the 30th of last month as it is suppose to be; today is on the 9th: still no menses; is this a side effect of postino ? Can it change my menstrual cycle ?

Hello Anonymous,

Yes, an emergency contraceptive will cause changes in the menstrual cycle, but only to the next menstrual cycle.

This effect is lasting longer for you. Please call and speak with your gynecologist.
