How can you tell you are going through menopause when you no longer have a period due to a partial hysterectomy?

Thank you for the information. It answered exactly what I was wondering. I had a partial hystorectomy with one ovary removed. Est 6/7 years ago and I am now 47. The reason I am researching is, I am normally a warm person but I feel like I could sleep in a igloo and not get cold. Again thanks for the info (and very helpful about the blood test) Deb

Hello Anonymous,
If you had a partial hysterectomy 28 years ago, and are now experiencing symptoms of menopause, it is not because of the surgery but rather the normal course of your reproductive life.
During perimenopause, hormone levels, particularly estrogen, fluctuate and cause changes in the menstrual cycle. Most women begin this phase in their 50s, while some can start in their
late 40s.

Thanks for the answer. I wasn't sure how the partial would affect menopause.
