Period is late two days, when should I take a pregnancy test?

I had unprotected sex on the 31st, but he pulled out way before he finished, and was supposed to start my period that Wednesday. It's Friday and I still haven't started. Im always right on time. I have been stressing a lot about it. And Since he did not ejaculate in me, the possibility of getting pregnant is very unlikely. I would like to take a test, but it hasn't been long enough since we had sex to take a test to have it be accurate. How many days should I wait to test, and is it even worth it to test since pregnancy is so unlikely?

Hi Casey.bloomfield,

Thank you for your question.

If you engaged in unprotected sexual activity there is a risk of pregnancy.

You should wait at least 7 days to take a home pregnancy test. If you are worried that you might have gotten pregnant and you want to know as soon as possible – you do not want to wait until your missed period – you need to make an appointment with your doctor and get a blood pregnancy test.

Be well,
