plan B pill

I had a 28-day cycle last month. Had unprotected sex on Wed which was my CD9. Then took Plan B pill around 11 this morning (CD11). I went to the bathroom an hour ago and noticed some EWCM. Does this mean I'm still going to ovulate and might have a chance of getting pregnant?

Hi Anonymous,

Plan B was designed to prevent pregnancy when taken up to 3 days after unprotected sex.

It contains the hormone, levonorgestrel, which causes changes in your cervical mucus and uterine lining, making it harder for sperm to reach the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus. This is likely why you have noticed the egg white cervical mucus.

If you have any questions specific to Plan B, you can also contact their 1-800 number for best information: 1-800-330-1271

Best Wishes,

Rosa
