My last real period was 10/29-11/4. I started bc right after. I missed my last two active pills(11/24 and 11/25). Took them both 11/26 and had sex during that time. A few weeks later I had pregnancy symptoms fatigue, back ache etc. On 12/1 I started what I thought waa my period, it was brick red/brown, lasted three days and wasnt enough to fill even one panty liner. Ive taken 4 HPT and one blood test(blood test was done 12/7) all negatitive. I still have fatigue and nausea almost every day. Ive lost a few pounds without trying . Im not sure what to think because of the multiple negatitive pregnany tests.

Hi Anon,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

Menstrual symptoms can be similar to pregnancy symptoms. Since you've had several negative pregnancy test, one which was a blood test, it is likely that your hormones are imbalanced due to missing two birth control pills and doubling up on them once you realized you missed.

The 3 days of red/brown show for 3 days was your menstrual cycle, even though it was light. It's normal for your menstrual cycle to be irregular after missing and getting back on track.

I hope this helps.

Be well,
~Gillette
