If your doctor found something "abnormal" on an ultrasound, they may not know what it is...and need to confirm or rule out possibilities. You can call and ask what these possibilities are, or what they are looking for in a repeat ultrasound, but something "abnormal" can be literally anything from mild to severe. We are unable to speculate what a possible abnormality would be, as there are too many different conditions for either mom or baby without more information.

Meth use during pregnancy can cause abnormalities, as you mentioned, and here is some more information about side effects:

"Methamphetamine use during pregnancy causes the heart rate of the mother and baby to increase."

"Taking methamphetamine during pregnancy can result in problems similar to those seen with the use of cocaine in pregnancy. The use of speed can cause the baby to get less oxygen, which can lead to a small baby at birth. Methamphetamine can also increase the likelihood of premature labor, miscarriage, and placental abruption. Babies can be born addicted to methamphetamine and suffer withdrawal symptoms that include tremors, sleeplessness, muscle spasms, and feeding difficulties. Some experts believe that learning difficulties may result as the child gets older. "

You can read more about meth use during pregnancy at the March of Dimes: http://www.marchofdimes.com/professionals/14332_1169.asp#head3

Have you talked with your doctor openly about your meth use during pregnancy? I'm glad you are receiving good prenatal care!
