Q:

Problem after genital rubbing. How can I solve this?

Me and my boyfriend were rubbing our genitals together (he was wearing a condom, so we were safe) today and we've done it a few times before and it seems as though my vagina has swollen up. The lips of my vagina look different and it feels like a bruise if I press on or around my vagina.
Would the bruised feeling and swollen appearance go away? If so, how? I have already decided not to do this with my boyfriend for a while.

jessica_1675 - Yes, the bruises and swelling should go down, but the bruises may change color as they go through the healing process. Bruises result from broken blood vessels, which would indicate that your rubbing was pretty active. Ice or cold packs can help to reduce swelling, but might not be very comfortable for you. If the bruising doesn't go away in about four weeks, or if you develop additional bruising, seek advice from your health provider. In the meantime, you're wise to decide to refrain from this for a while and to let your body heal.
