I gave my little cousin a scalp massage, but then i remembered her mother telling me that she gets lice off and on from schoolmates. I then went to the bathroom and washed my hands with soap and water, and then wiped them off with paper towels, although admittedly i didn't clean under my nails.
Maybe about 15 minutes later, I scratched my head without thinking and now i'm scared that i could have possibly exposed myself to lice. my cousin doesn't have a breakout of lice right now as far as i know.
Would the lice/lice eggs have survived a hand washing, wiping and then 15 minutes?

Hello, again cb93. Thank you for your message.
If she didn't have lice (at that time) you wouldn't get it. In any case, you washed your hands. Hair lice can pass from person to person when people share personal items, such as combs, towels, clothing, hats, and hairbrushes. Because hair lice cannot jump or fly, they crawl from one person to another, using their claws to grab onto hair.
