Scarring

Hey
I have my nose pierced (for 8/9 months now) and naturally, i got the dreaded piercing bump which stayed for around 2 weeks. It went down and there was dead skin and a scab, after my normal cleaning regime ( sea salt water twice a day) the skin where the bump was which was above the piercing is dark/discoloured. I went to a piercer who said it was a scar but nothing to worry about. But due to my young age, naturally i am worried as i feel like everyone is staring at it but it is small, just circular, grey/purple colour but flat.

I have been using Bio Oil for 2 days and it has gone a bit lighter but i am still concerned about it as it is unsightly (to me), is there any ways i could help move the healing process along faster?
Thanks

Guide

Hi Anon,
Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

If what you are currently using (Bio Oil) is working, I would continue with it and give it more time. Another option that might yield quicker results but is more expensive is laser scar reduction treatments.

I hope this helps.
Be well,
