Sciatica is caused by irritation of the root(s) of the lower lumbar and lumbosacral spine. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as ibuprofen or naproxen), can reduce the inflammation that is usually part of the cause of pain. Alternating between ice/heat can help also. It's good to have your condition evaluated by a doctor (or alternatively) some people choose to see a Chiropractor. You can find out more about treatments in the resource below:
