Sharp burning pain in my nipple/ now breast

I awoke this morning with sharp burning pain in my nipple and it has continued all day long. It isn't like the swelling or heaviness or ache of menstrual pain. Nor is it like the pains in the breast that I've experienced before and been told was due to caffiene. I don't consume very much caffiene and am only about 20 pounds overweight. My breast looks the same, I just keep getting this jabbing pain right in the tip of the nipple. If I hold my breast in my hand, it seems to ease up if not stop. If I let go or bend over, it is really bad again. I am 48 years old and had my only child at age 40. Most importantly, I can't afford and do not have health insurance so no doctor will see me. I'm kind of scared but trying not to be. I don't feel a lump or anything and no discoloration.

Actually, I wrote all of this yesterday and now today I am experiencing the pains in the left side of my breast instead of my nipple. Maybe it is just caffiene related. I hope so. Any info would be appreciated.

I am having a burning andsharp pains in my left nipple. It started this morning as I woke up. I hold my hand close & tight it easiest up, but the minute I take it away it starts again. Any Ideas what this might be?

Pain in your breast can be from an infection, a cracked nipple, or underlying medical condition.

Do you have any nipple discharge, or is your breast/nipple warm to the touch?

I know how you feel I am 47 years old and a few weeks ago started having the same problem, I had all my female parts taken out over 7 years ago so the hot flashes and nights sweats are pretty much over now. however this burning and stinging pain is all new to me, I have did breast checks on myself and do not feel anything that should not be there.

Hi,
I'm wondering how your symtpoms are...if you are still having the burning and stinging pain in your breast? If so, please have this medically evaluated by your doctor, and let us know what your doctor says!

Anytime you have pain, especially that is sharp and painful to the touch, you need to seek medical attention.

Please visit with your doctor to be medically evaluated, and let us know how you are doing!

Hi ladies Im 38 years old and I also have been having pain on my right nipple, I have been going back and forth for the past 3 years the pain has not gone away they found a small cyst right under my nipple. Ive seen more than one doctor yet they cant find a way to help me. I go get my sono and a memogram every year. I need help. its a nightmare when its time for my menstrual cycle time.

I'm sure that your intentions are good, but your response goes beyond the totally obvious. As I stated before, I have no insurance. I and all of my predecessors were born in this country so we get NOTHING for free. Unlike the millions of women who are in this country illegaly or those here legally that have numerous children by numerous different men whose names they may or may not know - I cannot give birth six times for free (to them that is) or go to the doctor for any other reason. Doctors are not healers they are money hungry theives who live off of our misery. Hopefully my problem is not lethal or I'm just another dead American. But at least there will be one less taxpayer paying for illegals and lazy people to be treated for their drug problems, promiscuity or government-induced obesity.

I so agree with this post. I have lost all faith in doctors. They aren't there to help, they are there to line their own and the pharmaceutical companies pockets, and nothing more.

Amen sister. I'm sick of paying for illegals too. You cant move to Canada and sit on their dole. This country hasn't half a brain and will probably bankrupt itself consequently.
