Smelly Discharge

I'll just cut to the point!

It's been just over 2 weeks since my period and I've started to get smelly, clear-ish, white discharge. I've become quite concious of it recently. I've had clear discharge before related to my menstrual cycle (moderate amount!) but I don't think it has smelled before. There is no irritation or anything like that, just a funky smell if I waft around that area.

Hi Moose,

Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. Bacterial vaginosis is a common infection that causes a fishy-like odor and abnormal discharge. You would have to go to your physician for a prescription of antibiotics.

STDs can cause odors as well. Are you concerned about a possible STD? If so, you should always consult your OBGYN to be tested. Any abnormalities in discharge and/or smells should be followed up by your physician.

I hope this helps and keep us posted.
