Q:

So my last period ended on 4/28. Its now 6/27 and I still haven't started my period. What could this mean?

I'm only 14 years old but I started my period when I was around 11 or 12, or maybe earlier than that. I know periods in the beginning are irregular but since it has been a couple of years since I started I didn't think that it would be. I haven't had any sex (obviously) so I don't know what the issue could be. No cramps, I've had some discharge. I just want some answers because I have been worrying about it. Thank you!

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to our community. Is a parent or guardian aware of this? If not, let some one know. I do not think it is serious, but should be shared.

You are correct. In the early days of menstruation, periods can be irregular.

Emotional stress, changes in weight be it increase or decrease and an increase in daily physical exercise, such as starting a sport, can cause a delay or missed period.

If you miss another month, your parent or guardian may want to speak with your pediatrician.

Regards,
Maryann
