If sperm is on your hands will it die pretty quickly or does it take a long time?

Hello,
My bf and I had unprotected sex a few days ago. I know there is always a chance of pregnancy, but how much of a chance is there a week after my period?
Thanks!

Hello, so my boyfriend and I were messing around and I gave him a hand job. He only came a little bit but he touched it with his hand. After he touched it he said he wiped it off on the bed. A few minutes later he fingered me. Is there a chance that I could be pregnant from this? Thanks so much, I'm kinda freaking out.

Hello Anonymous,

No risk if he wiped all of the semen from his hands. Next time, better to wash his hands with soap and water.

When did this Activity take place? Was it during her ovulating days? Fyi ovulation occurs usually 14-16 days before her next due period date. If it happened during these days there is a risk as sperm can live upto 5 days in a woman's cervix. If not there's nothing to worry but its best to take a urine test if she misses her period and a blood test to be sure.

Hi there!
I'm just laying up worrying. It's probably just my mind messing around with me is all, but you could never be too careful. I'm a girl on my period and my boyfriend and I had intercourse. Of course, with proper protection. I'm also on birth control. After we had finished and he had taken off the condom, I gave oral, but I didn't touch him with my hands while doing so. A few minutes afterwards, I went to the bathroom and self checked myself. I just have a couple of questions..
Are there any possible chances? How long normally after being exposed to air does sperm die (if it works that way)?
I appreciate the time you put into reading this and if you respond, I'd appreciate that as well. Thank you so much.

Hello Anonymous,

There was no risk for pregnancy because you had protected intercourse. You were protected by being on birth control ; he used a condom and you were on your period.

Sperm can live outside the body for about 20 minutes. Once semen has dried, sperm has died.

Regards,
Maryann

I gave a hand job, some of the semen got on my hands. I wiped what I think is most of it off. Maybe 10 minutes later I went to the bathroom and realized I had started my period and was worried about that forgot to wash my hands completely and wiped and inserted a tampon. Should I be worried about pregnancy?

Hi Anonymous,

No, there is no need to worry because you started your period.
