Hi, I'm 13 years old, and i often get my periods every two weeks. I think I have depression, I get stressed out quite a lot, especially because I have some of family problems at the moment. And I'd get my period after i had a really bad week, I'm not really sure if it affects my period, but if I can't help it, I cry for at least about an hour or so, no one really knows that I'm unhappy, because I don't show it, but after half a day or the next day I'd get my period, please answer my question as soon as possible because I'm quite concerned, and I got my first period when i was 11 years old

Hi Anon and thanks for your question -

Yes, stress - and the impact that stress has on hormones - could definitely be a factor in why you are having periods every two weeks. It's also possible that there is a medical reason for this. Do you have a gynecologist or family doctor? You are not too young to see a doctor and get the care you need. I hope you will schedule an appointment soon to get an exam and support so that your health needs, including the depression, can be addressed so that you can feel better and have a better quality of life.

Hope that helps,

Pam
