Q:

Swollen and puffy eyelids in the morning and then get flaky, red and sore during the day...

Hi there...

Was just wondering... the last 6-8 weeks, i've been waking up with swollen puffy eyelids - which i first thought was seasonal allergies, but it hasn't stopped. As the day goes on, my eyelids skin will get flaky like exzema, flakes off or just looks horrible... sometimes they're sore, red in areas, very dry and sometimes itchy...

Has anyone experienced this? I've never had any problems with skin problems ever nor many allergies ever either... once in a while in the spring...

I've tried many different kinds of natural creams with no relief! What could be causing this? I'm stumped... when i first went to my doctor, she just sent me home with allergy pills and drops that have done nothing but cost me lots of money....

I'd appreciate any help... with much appreciation...
sincerely, carol :o)

A new pillow and a week of cleaning eye lids and area around them with Tea Tree Oil (using nothing else and no make up) cleared mine up.

I have the same issue. It started when I started drinking coffee.
It went away once I eliminated coffee. I'm not convinced it's caused by caffeine because I have been a black tea drinker for years and I can have soda with no effects.
I drank a small pot of decaf yesterday and woke up to dry eyes, flakey eyelid skin, dark undereye circles & creases. I age about 10 years when this happens, it hurts & makeup doesn't hide it!
If this continues I'll try organic coffee & if that doesn't work I'll have to go cold turkey again :(.

I have I was told I had blepharitis but I believe it's some sort of excema problem. I used everything and did nothing. I know someone who worked in business where they made health stuff and things for your skin. I asked her what she had for it and it's Florasone cream. I use this every morning and when needed pure coconut oil. I find the coconut oil after a bit runs into your eyes so I use this at night if needed. It also works on the swelling a bit in the morning with the Florasone cream. A little of this goes a long way.

I suffered for 2 YEARS in the same way. I finally found out I'm allergic to fragrance. Regardless, it still acts up in the winter.
Try super-hydrating creams, such as one I bought today by Peter Thomas Roth (available at Sephora).
Sounds like you have eczema, being exacerbated by an allergy and the winter. You would know if you had blepharitis; there's lots of crust along the lash lines and oozing.

After suffering with the eyelid dermatitis for several long months, I discovered the ultimate culprit was my citric acid allergy. I was using Free & Clear Liquid Cleanser on my face and discovered it has citric acid in it. I can, however, use Free & Clear Gentle Facial Cleanser. The bottles look very similar. I stopped using all mascara and only use brown Cover Girl line exact eyeliner which I remove at night with a Q-Tip and warm water so it doesn't touch other areas around my eyes. I pretty much just wash my face with warm water and pat dry. I also only use Free & Clear shampoo and conditioner and hair styling gel. My hairspray is also that brand. I change my pillowcase nightly and only use All Free and Clear laundry dtgt and dryer sheets. I have been free of this terrible condition for about 2 months. When my eye area does come in contact with something that irritates it, I wash with warm water and apply hydrocortisone cream or Protopic which is an expensive ointment I got through the dermatologist. I rarely have to use it though if I keep using only these products.

Google the condition "blepharitis". This is what I have and it sounds like you have it too.

I have the same problem in the winter but only this year & last, I think these irritations are caused by the heavy metals discharge via the chemtrails not contrails, dumped down on us allowed by our political idiots, so I use Dr, Christophers Black Ointment & Cayenne massage salve the cayenne burns but Will Not harm you actually it'll help you to see better if it gets in your eyes, also use Magnesium Ultra because everyone that has any aches or pains are deficient mostly in mag.

Really? I find that chemtrails have helped my complexion and also made me a bit clairvoyant.
