Swollen Groin?

I don't know exactly what's supposed to be in this part, but I'm guessing my ovary or something. It's on my left side, the area just below my pelvis and above my privates. I don't know if I'm just being paranoid, but it really feels like the organ is the one that's swollen, not any sore muscle of sorts, because it doesn't hurt like a bruise or a pulled muscle. And if that's the case, it can't be any simple matter I can just shrug off, can it?

Any advice on what it can be and what I should do about it? Thanks!

Concerning the weight gain, the opposite happened. I lost almost four kilograms a few months ago, but I attribute that to premeditated lifestyle and diet changes. I haven't really been injured in any way near that area which is why this confuses me so much.

Thank you very much for your advice. I was putting off a much needed appointment with a doctor. Now that I've had someone say it to me directly I've become determined to attend to my body as soon as I can.

Hi again,
I'm glad you've decided to at least give your doctor a call and see what they have to say about it. They likely will want to have you make an appointment to get checked out. I'm a firm believer it's better to err on the side of caution--it's always best to keep on top of these things. You have one body, take care of it so it can take care of you.
Let us know what your doctor says. Your experience may be able to help someone in a similar situation.

Hi Sardonyxmemoirs,
Thanks for your question and for finding EmpowHER. We cannot diagnose you. If the swelling concerns you, call your doctor. Have you noticed any weight gain, or injuries lately that could explain what you're experiencing? It never hurts to call the doctor and let them know when you experience these things. Also, you may want to make a note of it in a calendar, so you can track any changes in symptoms, etc. in case you do end up going to the doctor. That way, you will be able to advocate for yourself better by being able to communicate that information clearly and without doubt.
Good luck and let us know how you're doing.
