Warning: This may get to be TMI. My apologies in advance.
I have what is normally a 37 day cycle which includes breast soreness a week prior and my cramps don't start up until the day after I start. My cycles this year so far were Jan 25th-29th and March 4th-8th, so I expected my next cycle to begin on April 11th. This month I began spotting pink on the night of April 6th, and off and on pink and dark brown until the 10th. There were no cramps and no breast tenderness and the blood was never enough for a whole tampon, usually just streaked on one side.

I felt like something was up, so I took an a store brand HPT on the 7th and again on the 10th and both were negative. But this could have been too soon. (maybe?)
On about the 14th my breast started hurting. Not constantly, but off and on, throughout the day and especially at night. I'm restless and been getting dizzy spells even when sitting. I feel like I have a heightened sense of smell, but I'm afraid I'm just looking too deep into something that probably isn't there.
Could that have been implantation bleeding? Was that too soon to test? Or am I just slowly driving myself insane thinking about it?
Thank you for your help.

Hi txttc,
Glad to hear that you will be seeing your doctor. Usually, vaginal discharge during ovulation is clear and stretchy.

Hi txttc,

You really need to relax. If you are pregnant, stress is not good for you or your unborn child. If you are not pregnant, stress will only delay your period more.

At some point soon, you will need to make an appointment with your doctor. If you are pregnant, you will need to begin prenatal care. If you are not pregnant, you will want to know why you are having these symptoms.

Try to relax. See if you menstruate in early May. If not, make the time to schedule an appointment with your gynecologist.

Thank you. I took your advice and relaxed... as much as I could.

On Saturday May 5th, I took another pregnancy test and there was a faint second line. All in all I ended up taking four First Response tests with all faint lines and one digital test that read Pregnant.

I have called my doctor and will be going in sometime next week for my first prenatal appointment.
One last question for you though. Could that strange bleed have been from ovulation? If so, that was pretty late in the cycle, but it sure would make sense. =)

Thank you again for your time and responses.

Hi txttc,

Did you have unprotected sex since your last period in March? If so, that increases the chance of pregnancy and the reason that you have not gotten your period.

Now would be a better time to take a home pregnancy test. Invest a few extra dollars, buy a brand name test, check the expiration date, read and follow the directions carefully.

A urine pregnancy test or a blood pregnancy test, which is more accurate, detects hCG levels. hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin0 is commonly called the pregnancy hormone and is produced during pregnancy.

I keep track of when we have intercourse. Last month, I forgot to note one of the times, but I know what week it was. Here is my information for this year:
Menstruation on January 25-29
Intercourse on Feb. 5, 16 and 27
Menstruation on March 4-8
Intercourse on March 12, 22 and once during the next week (not noted)
Intercourse on April 1.
Spotting from April 6-10 (very light, as described in original post)
Intercourse on April 10 and 19.
This morning I took a store brand HPT and it was negative, though I swear I could see the line where a positive should be (just not pink, so I'm sure it's negative)
I'm having slight cramping low in my abdomen, I'm REALLY cranky, and my breasts are hurting every time I change positions or move around. I have a slight headache, feels like sinus related though. And the weirdest thing is I ache "down-there" as if it's swelling up. I'm also getting a little pain in my inner thighs which reminds me of round ligament pains from my previous pregnancy years ago.
I'm dumbfounded. I have no idea why I'm getting negatives when I really feel pregnant. I can't get into a doctor's office any time soon due to my schedule with work and tending to my daughter.
If I am pregnant shouldn't the test say so already? I've done a million google searches on the matter, but it seems that no one ever follows up on what actual happens to them after they've posted similar situations. I know I will. This is driving me crazy!
