In 2009 I twisted my ankle getting off the bus. A big knot appeared on my ankle that evening. The following week a x-ray was done, but it showed nothing. However, when I visited a doctor months later, the doctor said it was my tendons and that there could be reoccurrence. My question is, why do I still feel a tingling feeling and a sense of warmness in the same ankle. This occurs occasionally when sitting down and sometimes with movement. I'm not able to articulate the feeling correctly, so my doctor doesn't take me seriously. Any suggestions.

Dear Anonymous,
That little bump that goes away is usually indicative of tendon damage and it most likely healed by itself. Unfortunately, an XRay wouldn't pick that up. If it was your achilles tendon and there is still some damage, you can ask for an ultrasound or an MRI. In the meantime, you can take an NSAID such as Advil or Motrin for pain whenever the tingling occurs again.
Best,
Rosa
